Overview
FareSight helps users evaluate rideshare and delivery offer screenshots. This Privacy Policy describes the information involved in that workflow.
FareSight is designed so screenshot analysis runs locally on the user's device. It does not upload screenshots to Wintercore to read or analyze their contents as part of the app's results.
Information You Provide
FareSight may involve information you choose to provide, including:
- Screenshots you manually select from your photo library.
- Screenshots you bring into FareSight through your phone's Share menu or another app.
- Information you include if you contact Wintercore directly.
Screenshot Handling
FareSight is designed so screenshot analysis happens on the user's device. Shared screenshots may also be copied into FareSight's private storage so the app can complete the requested analysis. FareSight does not upload screenshots or text read from them to Wintercore for analysis.
Because results depend on the screenshot a user provides, incomplete or unclear screenshots may lead to incomplete or inaccurate results. Users should verify information in the original app.
On-Device Storage
FareSight may store some information locally on the user's device, including user settings and free-check usage counts. The latest shared screenshot or result may also remain locally and can include details about the screenshot, offer details read from it, calculated earnings information, and whether the check completed.
This information is not synchronized to a Wintercore account. It may remain until it is replaced by a later record, the app's storage is cleared, or the app is uninstalled, subject to the device's operating-system behavior.
Product Analytics
FareSight uses PostHog to help Wintercore understand how app features are used and to improve the product. PostHog processes this information for Wintercore using its United States cloud service.
Analytics may include a randomly generated installation identifier, app version and build number, phone platform, how a screenshot was brought into FareSight, rideshare or delivery provider category, whether a check completed, broad result categories, which expected details were missing, daily free-limit activity, upgrade-screen activity, and whether a purchase, restore, or FareSight Pro access check succeeded. These analytics are pseudonymous because events are associated with the random installation identifier.
FareSight does not send screenshots, text or offer details read from screenshots, filenames, file paths or links, precise location, exact payout amounts, exact distance or duration values, RevenueCat customer or support identifiers, support messages, raw technical errors, or crash details to PostHog. Automatic screen, touch, session replay, survey, advertising, and cross-app tracking collection are disabled. FareSight also disables PostHog location enrichment and does not add location to analytics events.
Product analytics are used only to understand feature usage, app outcomes, and upgrade flows. Wintercore does not sell this information, use it for targeted advertising, or share it with data brokers.
Data Sharing
Based on the current FareSight flow described here, screenshot analysis is designed to happen on-device rather than by uploading screenshots to Wintercore to read or analyze their contents.
FareSight uses RevenueCat to provide and verify FareSight Pro purchases and access. RevenueCat receives an app-specific customer identifier, purchase history, and access status needed to manage FareSight Pro. RevenueCat does not receive screenshots or text read from them through FareSight's analysis flow.
FareSight uses PostHog as a service provider for the product analytics described above. PostHog receives the pseudonymous installation identifier and only the limited app-usage events and information described above.
Apple or Google processes payments and store-account information under its own terms and privacy policy. FareSight receives the purchase and access status needed to provide Pro access but does not receive your full payment-card number.
If you choose to send a support email, Wintercore receives your email address, message, and anything you choose to include, which may include a screenshot, country or platform information, or an app-specific RevenueCat support identifier.
Data Retention
Local information remains on the device as described in the On-Device Storage section. RevenueCat, Apple, and Google retain purchase and access information according to their respective policies and legal obligations.
Wintercore retains product analytics only for as long as reasonably necessary to understand product usage, improve FareSight, maintain security, and meet applicable legal obligations. Analytics may be deleted or aggregated earlier and remains subject to Wintercore's configured PostHog retention controls.
If you send a support email, its retention depends on the information provided, the support request, and any applicable legal or operational requirements.
User Choices
Users can decide whether to select a screenshot manually or share or import a screenshot into FareSight.
Free users get 5 screenshot checks per local calendar day. Users can also decide whether to keep using the free experience or upgrade to FareSight Pro, which removes the daily free limit.
New installations have product analytics enabled by default. Users can turn analytics off at any time using Help improve FareSight in FareSight Settings. Turning analytics off prevents FareSight from accepting new analytics events and asks the analytics service to opt out. It does not retroactively delete events already delivered or accepted before opt-out. If a user later turns analytics back on, new analytics collection resumes.
Data Security
FareSight sends product analytics to PostHog over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Wintercore limits access to production analytics and uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect the information described in this policy. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
Wintercore may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If that happens, the updated version will be posted on this page and the date at the top will be revised.
